Mr. Hyungjun Ahn was appointed as the Vice Commissioner of Statistics Korea in August 2024. Before this appointment, Mr. Ahn served as the President of the Statistics Training Institute, where he was responsible for the professional development and training of statistical personnel.

Mr. Ahn also held various positions within Statistics Korea. He served as the Director General of multiple bureaus, including the Statistics Policy Bureau, the Economic Statistics Bureau, and the Statistical Data Hub Bureau. He also directed the Statistics Policy Division and the Price Statistics Division.

Mr. Ahn’s career at Statistics Korea has been marked by his contributions to the development and implementation of statistical policies, and he played a key role in the organization’s strategic initiatives. In addition to his roles within Statistics Korea, he gained international experience as a secondee to the Statistics Bureau of Japan.

Mr. Hyungjun Ahn completed his B.S. in Economics at Korea University.
